Today, Myanmar faces many challenges. Political unrest and increasing religious persecution have taken a toll. People are at their limits. The needs there are great— spiritual ones included. A local friend recently told me, “There is widespread hunger for the Word of God in this land.”
Many agencies have worked together to produce radio broadcasts that reach Myanmar. Across countries, we work to create content for the local areas in Myanmar, reaching places where workers cannot go.
Little by little, people are responding to what they hear on the radio broadcasts. One listener shared, “I heard there is only one true living God who created all the animals and humans.” Another expressed their excitement that they can hear the stories of the Bible for the first time in their own language, thanks to the radio!
In addition to the daily broadcasts, we will soon be distributing a batch of MP3 devices loaded with content to certain villages. The sharing of good news is happening, and we all know that it will produce fruit in due time.
- Praise the Lord for making it possible for the Rohingya of Myanmar to hear the Word in their own language via shortwave radio and portable MP3 devices. Bring before the Lord those behind the script writing, voice-overs, transmission, and on-the-ground listener follow-up. There is a lot of work involved!
- Please pray that as the broadcasts are heard, the hearts of the listeners will receive the grace and love found in Jesus.
