Mohammed is 19 years old and he dreams about travelling around the world. He would like to visit New York and see the Statue of Liberty. He finished high school (10th grade) and took part in tuition to gain more knowledge. He’d love to go to college and be a manager one day. But he’s not allowed to travel to the town where the college is located.
His uncle lives in London. He’s working in a fast food restaurant and sends money regularly. His older brother is in Malaysia and works on a construction site. He also sends money home. So Mohammed has a smartphone like all his friends. Every day they sit together in a tea shop to talk about the latest news. They practice their English and they work very hard to improve their chances of getting a job at an NGO, such as the one interviewing for a job next week. Many others will certainly apply, and Mohammed fears that one of the other applicants will be more qualified and will get the job.
There are no other good jobs available for him. Mohammed dreams about other places because nothing good ever happens in his hometown. If there aren’t any changes he’ll try to escape to Malaysia to work there. If he makes it then at least he could earn money and send it back to support his family.
Please pray for Mohammed, that he will have a chance to hear about Jesus and that God will provide the “daily bread” they need.
