Translation has had a huge impact on Admed’s life. First it was the Jesus film translated into his own language that grabbed Admed’s attention and arrested his heart. He and his wife watched the Jesus film repeatedly, always amazed by the love of Jesus.
Then Jesus appeared to him in a dream inviting Ahmed to follow Him. He accepted the invitation and was insistent on being baptized as quickly as possible. Ever since that time Ahmed has been soaking up the word of God listening over and over again to the small portions of the work that are available in His language. First it was the Gospel of Luke. This week he was thrilled to receive the links to the Gospel of John and the book of Acts in his language. He is eagerly listening to these stories for the first time.
Ahmed declares himself a believer, but so far has not made it known to anyone, “I’m afraid if others find out they will ask me questions picking apart my belief. I don’t know how to defend my new faith yet.”. Thank God for these new resources in Ahmed’s mother tongue that will help him to grow in knowledge and in faith.
Every day at our clinic in the camp, short clips from the Jesus film are aired along with health education material. People pay close attention to these clips.
-Pray for Ahmed and others that they would stand firm in their faith.
-Thank God for the translation that has been done and ask that it would be distributed and have impact.
-Pray that those exposed to media clips whether at the clinic or elsewhere would become hungry to know more.
